Choosing The Right Baby Blanket
Choosing a blanket for your baby is tough. Obviously, you only want the best for your child, but with so many different options out there it can be quite a tricky choice. Sizes, colors, materials—there’s so much to consider! Here I’ll briefly attempt to break it down to make the decision easier.
There are a lot of different types of blankets. Receiving blankets are great for right when your baby arrives, and they’re also perfect for when he or she gets out of the bath. Full-sized blankets are great for cribs or beds, but you might also want a smaller blanky or nap blanket to go with it. After all, a baby can really never have too many blankets. You might want a blanket that you can take around town with you to comfort your baby while you’re on the go.
Baby blankets also come in a plethora of different materials. Chenille, satin, and velvet are all classic choices, and all very soft. For the more environmentally conscious, organic cotton blankets are a great choice. Little Giraffe even offers a luxurious faux-fur material for the blankets in their Luxe Collection.
Baby blankets nowadays are also available in a truly astounding variety of colors and patterns. Some have images on them, and baby blankets can often be monogrammed to add a special touch. Of course, you’ll also want to make sure that the blanket you decide on is machine washable and dryable.
